If you live in South West London and are looking for a tennis club with great social and competitive tennis (and an excellent social scene too), then look no further!
Founded in 1879, Putney Lawn Tennis Club (PLTC) is one of the oldest tennis clubs in the world. We have five synthetic grass courts and five artificial clay courts (eight of which are floodlit until 9pm), as well as a clubhouse with a (well-used!) function room which hosts regular parties, a well-stocked bar and kitchen, and big television screens for watching major sporting events.
Our 12 Men’s and Ladies’ teams compete at the highest levels of their respective Surrey Leagues, both at weekends and midweek. We’re not only about team tennis though - we have around 800 members of all ages across the various categories – Full, Off-Peak, Junior, Student and Social -, and run weekly Club Nights throughout the year, as well as annual tournaments and box leagues.
Our coaching team is always busy, whether teaching beginners or running midweek events for Off-Peak members. (You don’t have to be a member to have coaching … click here for more info.)
Our members live in all areas of SW London – whether Fulham, Battersea, Barnes, Sheen, Wandsworth, Clapham or just around the corner in Putney.
Our season runs from 1st April to 31st March each year. So if you’re interested in joining as a Full Member, then you have to register to take part in our annual Play-Ins which usually take place in February/March. Click here to find out more.
