Welcome to the Putney Lawn Tennis Club website
PLTC is a thriving tennis club with seven synthetic grass courts (six floodlit until 9pm) and three acrylic courts. Founded in 1879, the club is located at Balmuir Gardens in the heart of West Putney. Facilities include a clubhouse with a function room, bar, snooker table and changing rooms.
The season runs from 1st April - 31st March. PLTC has over 600 members, and an active tennis and social programme. Full Senior Membership is limited to 450. There are four men's and four ladies' teams playing in various leagues in summer and winter. There are two intra-club tournaments, a number of Bank Holiday one-day tournaments and a winter league. During the summer, there's the 'club night' on every Wednesday (followed by a BBQ) and the first Sunday afternoon of the month where members are organised into games by someone (so a great way to get to know people down at the club). Off court, the clubhouse (which also has snooker and table tennis tables, two television screens for watching major sporting events and many board games) is used for the many social events held during the year including parties, quiz nights, wine-tasting evenings, karaoke nights etc. It also has a bar and a kitchen.
